Report phish, scam, junk, and spam emails
Phish and scam emails
Phishes and scams are emails that are related to an illegal activity, fraud, or swindle carried out by deceiving users into revealing sensitive information for the benefit of the attacker. The usual tactic is to trap the receiver into disclosing personal information for illegal use or manipulation. Personal and account details are often the favorite targets.
Click the Phish Alert Report button (PAB) if you believe you have received a phishing email or any potentially dangerous email. Any emails you report using the PAB will be automatically deleted from your inbox. The emails you report will also be forwarded to the TAMU Engineering Cyber Response Team, Texas DIR Network & Security Operations Center, and Microsoft for analysis.
The PAB should only be used to report emails you believe to have malicious intent. If you are receiving spam or marketing emails, you should not use the PAB to report these; follow the instructions below.
Junk and spam emails
Unlike phish or scam emails, junk or spam email is mass distributions similar to the junk mail you get in your physical mailbox. Spam emails generally contain advertising for some products whose reliability is unknown or as a vector for phishing.
The built-in junk/spam mail reporting feature of your mail client should be sufficient to signal TTI email servers that the email is junk and unwanted.
