Getting Started with Microsoft Teams Calling
What is Microsoft Teams Calling?
Once migrated, you will have a new dial pad within the Teams app and will be able to make and receive calls from your TTI phone number. Teams calling also enables you to customize your phone experience and offers additional functionality.
Here are links to the getting started guide, as well as two very short videos from Microsoft giving the basics of Teams calling:

Things to note about the change to Microsoft Teams Calling:
- Everyone’s number will stay the same (unless it is approved to be changed by a supervisor)
- Dialing extensions (example: 42345) will not work once your number has been converted to a Microsoft Teams number
- You don’t have to “call” employees within TTI – you can simply start a Teams audio or video session with them without dialing their number
- During the transition, TTI employees not yet migrated will need to dial the full 10-digit number to reach you, and vice versa
- Your Cisco desk phones will no longer work once your numbers move to Microsoft Teams. NIS will retrieve the phones after the migration is complete.
